Pakistani officials won't release Pearl video Officials in Pakistan say a videotape of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl being killed by his kidnappers is too gruesome to release to the public. The American journalist was confirmed dead two days ago, when a video tape depicting his murder was delivered to the US Embassy in Pakistan. Security has been tightened around three suspects being detained in relation to the kidnapping, and the man who delivered the gruesome tape is being questioned. Today, the Pakistan Government has warned foreign missions, embassies and dignitaries to increase security measures because they believe the Pearl murder could be the beginning of a wider terorrist campaign in the country aimed at destabiling the Musharaf Government. Militant groups in the country are angered at the President's support of America post-September 11. Leigh Sales, Washington. 24/02/2002 12:47:19 | ABC Radio Australia News
