South Korea rail union to end strike

Trade unions at South Korea's state-run railway corporation have decided to end a two-day-old strike.

A spokesman for the Korean Trade Unions Federation, the nation's largest labour group, says it's calling off the strike to ease the inconvenience for commuters.

Union workers at railways, power firms and automakers began a strike on Monday, demanding shorter working hours and that the government scrap plans to privatise public utilities and services.
