South Korean jet crashes

A South Korean F-16 fighter jet has crashed into farmland, but its pilot managed to eject safely.

Military authorities said the fighter came down at Seosan, 150 kilometres southwest of Seoul.

A witness told local newsagencies that smoke was coming from the rear of the jet when it took off from a nearby air base.

South Korea has 120 US-made F-16 fighters.
