Indonesian man charged with people smuggling pleads not guilty
An Indonesian man charged with people smuggling has pleaded not guilty in the Perth District court.
Axel Junus (YOU-nis) was one of four Indonesians charged after more than 400 asylum seekers were rescued by the Norwegian container ship the Tampa, last August.
It's the first time Mr Junus has appeared in an adult court since being charged.
Mr Junus had claimed he was 17-years-old but medical tests presented to the Perth Children's Court last year proved he was at least 19.
He has been remanded in custody to reappear in court on March the 21st.
