Twenty-five North Koreans seek refuge in Spanish embassy in Beijing
A group of 25 North Koreans has entered the Spanish embassy in the Chinese capital, Beijing, seeking refuge.
The A-F-P newsagency says the group forced its way past guards outside the embassy who tried to stop them from entering.
A diplomat in the Embassy says the group, which includes 14 adults and 11 children, is seeking refugee status.
Embassy officials are meeting a representative from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' office in Beijing to discuss the affair.
The street on which the Spanish embassy is situated has been sealed off by armed police.
In June last year, a group of seven North Koreans took refuge in the Beijing office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees for four days.
