FBI director say al Qaeda members may try hiding in South-east Asia
The Director of America's Federal Bureau of Investigation, Robert Mueller, says he's concerned that members of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda militant network might flee from Afghanistan and try to hide in Southeast Asia
He raised the concern in talks shortly after he arrived in the Philippine capital on the latest leg of his tour of the region.
Philippine police have detained at least four Indonesian nationals in recent weeks for questioning on possible links to Saudi-born Muslim militant bin Laden and his al Qaeda, blamed for the September attacks on U.S. landmarks.
One of them, Fathur Rohman Al Ghozi, has told investigators he is a member of Jemaah Islamiah, a clandestine group suspected to be linked to al Qaeda, but denied knowing bin Laden.
The three other Indonesians were arrested at Manila airport last week while about to leave the Philippines. Police have filed charges of illegal possession of explosives against them.
