Indonesia Parliamentary Speaker freed from detention
An Indonesian court has ordered Parliamentary Speaker, Akbar Tanjung, freed from detention.
A Central Jakarta Court spokesman says the court approved a request from Mr Tanjung's lawyers to release their client, who was detained one month ago.
Mr Tanjung's wife promised he would attend any necessary hearings.
It was unclear if he had already left detention at the Attorney General's office.
Mr Tanjung, who also heads the country's second largest political party Golkar, has been charged with abuse of power and graft over an eight-million dollar scandal involving the state food agency Bulog.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
