Vietnam's government said to be terrorising highlanders
The U.S.-based Human Rights Watch is accusing Hanoi, and neighbouring Cambodia of violating international agreements on human rights and refugee asylum.
Cambodia has sealed its border to people fleeing Vietnam's Central Highlands in a continuing exodus that started in February last year.
In a 200-page report, the rights group says torture, arbitrary arrests and church burnings are among the weapons used by Vietnam's government against the mountain tribes.
It examines the exodus following protests over land rights and religious which were supressed by thousands of police and troops.
The report says the government violated fundamental human rights in suppressing the protests and those violations are continuing.
