Indonesia says "no" to diplomatic ties with Israel
Indonesia says it will not establish diplomatic ties with Israel before a Palestinian state is established.
Foreign Minister Hasan Wirayuda says Indonesia's support for the Palestinian cause means there will be no diplomatic ties and no recognition of Israel until it recognizes the Palestinian people's rights.
Mr Wirayuda says Indonesia is in constant contact with the Organization of the Islamic Conference to examine ways of stopping what he calls "Israeli aggression" and obtaining the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank.
Indonesian Muslims have protested Israel's military offensive in the West Bank, burning Israeli flags and effigies of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in cities across the country.
