Islamic activists arrested in Indonesia
Indonesian police say they have arrested three alleged members of a radical group which is campaigning to set up an Islamic state. They are detained for questioning after being arrested during a raid on a house in the West Java town of Bogor on Sunday evening.
Police say the raid followed reports from neighbours of strange activities in the house and was conducted in cooperation with local people.
They say that several documents related to the activities of Negara Islam Indonesia were found in the house with the charred remains of other documents that appeared to have been hastily burned.
The Kompas Daily reports the three men, aged in their 20s, told police that the group had a target date of 2010 to set up an Islamic state.
