Aust Cricket Board reviews plans for Pakistan tour

The Australian Cricket Board is reviewing plans for a cricket tour of Pakistan after a car bomb killed 14 people in the southern city of Karachi.

The New Zealand cricket team has cut short it's tour of the country as a result of the blast, which occured near the team's hotel.

The Board's Chief Executive Officer, James Sutherland, says discussions are continuing ahead of the planned tour by the Australian team in September.

But he says it's too early to decide whether it should be cancelled.

There's no sort of hard and fast decision for us to be making right now, we have a well documented system in place for making decisions on whether we will tour and the critical thing comes down to player safety.
