Aust cricket board considers Pakistan tour in wake of bombing

And in the wake of the Karachi blast, the Australian Cricket Board has said it's too early to decide whether to cancel a planned tour of Pakistan in September.

The car bomb which killed 14 people, exploded near the hotel where the New Zealand Cricket team was staying, forcing them to cancel the rest of their tour after just one test match.

A-C-B Chief Executive, James Sutherland, says player safety remains of utmost importance and the tour will be cancelled if it's compromised.

But he says a decision can only be made closer to the tour.

It's still four months away the tour, there are a lot of people that we consult as part of our process, including the Pakistani Cricket Board, the High Commissioner in Pakistan, foreign affairs and our international security consultants and we'll do that over the next few months.
