Monk arrested after storming Thai parliament

A Buddhist monk has been arrested after storming into the Thai parliament building in Bangkok armed with a machine gun.

Witnesses say he fired at least one shot before occupying the parliament's security office and taking a number of people hostage.

The monk had demanded to see government representatives after claiming to have been harassed on many occasions by police for trespassing in national forests.
