India's Foreign Minister to visit America
India's Foreign Minister, Jaswant Singh, will pay a three day visit to Washington early next month to meet Secretary of State, Colin Powell.
Mr Singh, who was also holds the defence portfolio, will also meet several other officials of the new US administration starting on April 5th.
It will be the first high-level meeting between New Delhi and Washington since President George W-Bush took office in January.
The Bush administration has reportedly accorded high priority to the resumption of a ministerial-level security dialogue with New Delhi.
The Bush team has also indicated it will review sweeping sanctions imposed on India for carrying out the nuclear tests.
Mr Singh was given charge of the defence ministry after the resignation of defence minister George Fernandes in the wake of an arms bribery scandal.
