U-S president renews call for return of spy plane from China

American President, George W-Bush, has renewed his call for China to return a U-S spy plane, and allow its crew to return home.

At the same time, Washington warns the incident has the potential to undermine Sino-US relations.

President Bush says he wants to give China time to respond to the weekend incident, to help prevent the stalemate from escalating into a full-fledged crisis.

However, he says the period of grace is quickly running out:

emergency landing triggered the diplomatic stand-off.

We have allowed the Chinese government time to do the right thing, but now it is time for our servicemen and women to return home and it is time for the Chinese government to return the plane.
