China says spy plane row far from over
China says the row over the US spy plane is far from resolved ...despite the release of its crew and official American expressions of regret.
Beijing is also declining to guarantee the return of the aircraft and its sophisticated surveillance equipment.
China's Premier Zhu Rongji has said the crew's release does not mean the end of the case, and has reaffirmed Beijing's position that the United States should shoulder all responsibility for the collision.
China still insists the US plane rammed the Chinese fighter causing it to crash into the South China Sea.
The pilot is missing, presumed dead.
China's uncompromising stance came after the 24 member crew of the sply plane left the southern island of Hainan after 12 days in captivity.
They are now on their way to Hawaii.
