Megawati names new cabinet

Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri has unveiled a new 30 member cabinet.

Ms Megawati named ambassador to Washington and economist Dorojatun Kuncoro-Jakti as the new coordinating minister for the economy, replacing Abdurrahman Wahid's Burhanuddin Abdullah.

Appointed as coordinating minister for politics and security affairs was another close ally, retired lieutenant general Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

He lost the same post in Mr Wahid's cabinet in June.

The new cabinet has three coordinating ministers, 17 ministers, 10 state ministers without ministries and two senior officials holding ministerial rank.
