Positive reaction to new Indonesian cabinet

There's been mostly positive reaction to the announcement of Indonesia's new Cabinet .. with markets rallying and politicans giving it the thumbs up.

Mark Bowling reports President Megawati Sukarnoputri has named a 30 member Cabinet made up of mostly professionals to tackle the country's economic woes, corruption and separatist unrest.

President Megawati has named mainly career bureaucrats to key economic and finance positions. There are three former generals in the Cabinet, including Bambang Yhodyono, sacked by former President Wahid, but returning to office as Security Minister . A civilian, Matori Abdul Jalil has been named Defence Minister, a sign of the waning political fortunes of Indonesia's powerful military. Megawati's Cabinet does not reward Indonesia's main political parties that backed her push for the Presidency. Only 11 of the 30 new ministers are politicians.
