Indonesia's President unveils her cabinet team Indonesia has a new group of leaders following president Megawati Sukarnoputri's announcement of a 30-member Cabinet, made up of mostly professionals, not politicians. Megawati Sukarnoputri says the aim of her first Cabinet is cooperation. Megawati has not bowed to party political pressure in naming her Cabinet even though she's indebted to major parties for backing her push for the presidency and helping to oust Abduraham Wahid. Instead, government professionals, not politicians, have been appointed to key posts, especially the economic ministries. There are three former generals in the Cabinet, including Bambang Yudhoyono, sacked by former President Wahid, but returning to office as Security Minister. A civilian, Matori Abdul Jalil, has been named Defence Minister, a sign of the waning political fortunes of Indonesia's powerful military.
