Cambodian PM warns parties to stay away from "terrorism"
Cambodian Premier Hun Sen has issued a stern warning to political parties and non-government organizations to steer clear of all kinds of "terrorism." Hun Sen threatened vigorous action against those consorting with alleged terrorists. The Prime Minister says anyone involved with terrorism will be arrested, even party chiefs, because he says he doesn't want Cambodia plunged into another disaster by a small group of people.
Political analysts said the warning was directed at the sole opposition party of long-outspoken dissident Sam Rainsy. Mr Rainsy has complained that members of his party in former Khmer Rouge strongholds in the country's northwest have been arrested and accused of being agents for the rebel Cambodian Freedom Fighters.
The CFF is a US-based group which has vowed to overthrow the government.
