High security imposed after China bombings
Chinese authorities have tightened security in Beijing following a series of suspected grudge bombings across the country.
Barricades were installed outside the US embassy complex in central Beijing, with vehicle, bicycle and even foot traffic redirected.
Police in the capital were not available for comment on whether the operation is related to the bombing of a McDonald's hamburger outlet in Beijing or others in a series of around 24 explosions set off in four cities in just three days.
The McDonald's bomb exploded early Saturday evening as the fast food restaurant in Xian was packed with customers, killing two people and injuring 27 others.
