Japan and China strike deal to settle trade row
Japan and China have struck a deal to settle a trade row.
The move paves the way for Tokyo to avoid import curbs on Chinese farm products and for Beijing to remove its punitive tariffs on Japanese cars, mobile telephones and air conditioners.
The deal was reached at talks in Beijing between senior Japanese and Chinese government ministers.
The trade dispute flared in April when Japan slapped a temporary, 200-day restriction on imports of three agricultural products mostly imported from China.
China imposed 100-percent retaliatory tariffs on Japanese cars, mobile telephones and air conditioners in June.
