Muslim summit declares Islam is a religion of peace and love
A Muslim summit in Jakarata has issued a declaration that Islam is a religion of peace, love and forgiveness
A total of 143 of Muslim scholars and religious figures from 53 countries called on Muslim leaders across the world to promote the notion.
The declaration said the application of justice by and for Muslims was an important factor in reducing violence and terrorism.
It said that the Prophet Muhammad taught peace, love and forgiveness and the application of those values was important in bringing changes to the world. The declaration, reached after a one-day meeting, also said that Islam rejects all forms of violence.
