US opens to Cambodian textile exports
The United States has agreed to open the door further to textile exports from Cambodia.
The U-S Trade Representative office says the quota for most textile exports has been expanded by 15 percent, exceeding the normal increase of six percent, because Cambodia has improved its respect for workers' rights.
In a statement, the office says the extra nine percentage points were agreed to in recognition of Cambodia's progress in reforming labour conditions in textile factories over the last three years.
