European Union team to meet Suu Kyi
A group of European diplomats visiting Burma, just days after the government says it foiled a coup plot, will hold talks on Friday with opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi.
The E-U mission of four senior diplomats, arrived in Burma on Wednesday to assess human rights and the country's political situation.
Both the military junta and her National League for Democracy have said the coup attempt will not disrupt their peace talks.
Ms Suu Kyi, winner of the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize, has been held under house arrest at her Rangoon residence for 18 months.
Earlier today, the diplomats met Foreign Minister, Win Aung, and are later due to meet military intelligence chief, Lieutenant-General Khin Nyunt.
The E-U mission's visit has been complicated by government claims that it had uncovered a coup plot masterminded by the family and cronies of former dictator Ne Win.
