Hindus attack Muslim homes in India, but no deaths reported
Religious violence has flared in India's riot-racked western state of Gujarat after Hindus attacked and burnt Muslim homes in a village.
However, police say no deaths were reported.
In the six-hour assault, the two-thousand-strong crowd looted and torched Muslim homes and shops in Baroda district, sending Muslims fleeing.
A curfew was imposed in one village which is now quiet, but the Muslim population has not yet returned.
At one stage police fired in the air to disperse the mob.
India has been on alert since the worst religious violence in a decade erupted last month.
More than 700 people, mainly Muslims, died in a wave of revenge killings by Hindus after a Muslim mob torched a train returning from the holy town of Ayodhya.
