Indonesian President conveys message from North to South Korea
Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri says that North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has reacted positively to a message she carried from his South Korean counterpart urging new talks.
Mrs Megawati made the comment after briefing President Kim Dae-Jung and other South Korean leaders on her landmark talks in Pyongyang where she urged the isolated Stalinist state to kick-start dialogue with the outside world
The Indonesian president was the first foreign leader to meet the North Korean leader since the US President George W. Bush condemned the country for being part of "an axis of evil."
The two Korean leaders last met at an historic summit in Pyongyang in June 2000 but relations have since been hit by new tensions between North Korea and the United States.
