Seven killed in fighting in Indian Administered Kashmir
A young Hindu boy caught in crossfire between security forces and militants is among seven people killed in Indian Kashmir.
Police spokesman said the boy was killed and a policeman injured during an overnight gun battle between militants and security forces in a village in the southern district of Doda.
Three separatist Muslim militants were also killed in two different encounters in Srinagar, the Kashmiri summer capital, and Rajouri, a southern district bordering Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
A Muslim civilian was killed in a shooting by a policeman, who was later arrested, in the southern district of Anantnag, police said. More than 35-thousand people have died in Kashmir since the eruption of armed militancy in 1989.
