Indonesia and India boost trade links
Indonesia's President Megawati Sukarnoputri has called for more trade with India as the two countries signed a series of deals to boost economic ties.
She has been in India since Monday accompanied by a group of business executives on a mission to lure more investors.
However, President Megawatti says that social unrest in her country can have the effect of limiting investment, but she says her administration is trying to ease the internal pressures and the situation is imrproving.
Firms from both countries lhave signed nine agreements spanning railways, pharmaceuticals, communications and information technology.
New Delhi and Jakarta have shared friendly ties dating back to Indonesia's pre-independence days but annual bilateral trade stands at a meagre three-billion dollars.
