Police say 11 militants shot dead in cross-border exchange
Indian security forces say they have killed 11 Muslim separatist militants in Kashmir and exchanged fire with Pakistani troops.
The Indian army says in one incident it shot dead four militants who tried to enter from Pakistan Kashmir over the Line of Control, the de facto border that divides the Himalayan region between the two countries.
Police say they were among a dozen militants caught infiltrating the Line of Control.
Police say Pakistani troops fired on Indian positions, preventing them from removing the bodies.
They say Pakistani forces also shelled villages in neighbouring Poonch district, but there were no casualties.
