Cambodian King's films to be preserved by Academy of Motion Pictures
The organizers of Hollywood's Oscar awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, have been given a collection of movie memorabilia belonging to Cambodia's King Sihanouk.
The rare collection was donated to by a former Argentine ambassador to France Fernando Gelbard and Bangkok-based businessman and journalist, Scott Rosenberg.
The collection includes videos, screenplays, photographs and music from films such as "Adieu Mon Amour," "An Ambition and Reduced to Ashes" all produced and or directed by King Sihanouk.
The films of King Sihanouk focus on the country of Cambodia by showcasing its history, people and culture.
Cambodia's Ambassador to the United States, Roland Eng, says the gift will help preserve his country's history and culture.
King Sihanouk has worked on nearly 20 films since 1966 and has produced musical scores for his movies.
