Royal astrologers predict a good harvest for Cambodia

Royal Cambodian astrologers are forecasting a bountiful harvest of rice, corn and beans as this season's ploughing got under way with a traditional ceremony presided over by King Norodom Sihanouk.

During the ceremony, outside Phnom Penh's National Museum royal cows were led to seven dishes -- rice, corn, sesame, grass, beans, water and alcohol -- laid on trays in front of them.

Prime Minister Hun Sen did not attend the ceremony after renouncing it last year, saying royal astrologers are inaccurate and have failed to predict floods in 2001 which claimed 56 lives.
