Cambodian minister under party pressure to quit
The president of Cambodia's royalist FUNCINPEC party, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, has demanded the resignation of his most senior member...interior minister You Hockry.
The move is being seen as a bid to quell internal party dissent after FUNCINPEC's poor performance at local elections in February.
Correspondents say the result was partly blamed on corruption and nepotism within FUNCINPEC, and You Hockry has been singled out by those seeking to rebuild the party ahead of next year's general election.
You Hockry, who stands to lose both his ministerial position and his seat in parliament, has rejected all charges.
