More sightings of rare crane in Cambodia

Sightings of the rare Eastern Sarus Cranes -- the world's tallest flying bird -- are increasing across Cambodia, raising hopes that the rare bird can be saved from extinction.

The Cambodian Wildlife Protection Office, says fresh sightings of the crane have been made following satellite photos of the more than one-and-a-half metre tall bird in southern Cambodia.

Such cranes were once a common sight in Cambodia and are a decorative feature on the ruined walls of the 9th to 13th century temples at Angkor, but their numbers have been in rapid decline.
