South Korea condemns Japan's decision on text books
South Korea has condemned Japan's refusal to revise controversial history textbooks.
The Japanese government had been asked by South Korea and China to revise eight history textbooks, saying they glossed over Japan's war-time aggression.
However, Tokyo has officially told Beijing and Seoul that it will only order a few revisions to the books, saying most of the controversial passages contained no "clear mistakes."
The decision sparked protests on the streets of the South Korean capital outside the Japanese embassy.
The South Korean foreign ministry also condemned the decision, saying it could not accept what it termed the 'duplicity' in Japan's position.
