India's parliament to resume despite attack

India's parliament is due to resume its current session, a day after five heavily armed gunmen killed seven people at the parliament complex before being killed themselves.

The speaker of the lower house G.M.C. Balayogi said parliament would definitely resume despite the tragedy.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is expected to briefly address leaders of all political parties after which both the lower and upper houses will meet.

A resolution on terrorism is likely to be passed by both houses.
