Thai police make major amphetamines seizure

Thai police have seized nearly one million amphetamine tablets and materials to make another 30 million.

A senior police official in Bangkok says the drugs were found on three suspects detained in the northern province of Chiang Rai, which borders Burma - a major source of illegal narcotics.

So far this year, Thai narcotics police have seized more than 16 million amphetamine tablets in 409 cases that led to the arrest of 763 people.
