British Prime Minister leave Afghanistan after flying visit
Britain's Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has left Afghanistan at the end of a brief visit.
A British Defence Ministry spokesman says Mr Blair left Bagram airbase, near the capital, Kabul.
During the visit, the first by a Western leader to Afghanistan in decades, Mr Blair met Afghan interim leader, Hamid Karzai, as well as British and U-S troops at Bagram.
Mr Blair said his visit underlined the international community's commitment to Afghanistan as it starts a massive rebuilding task.
He said the people of Afghanistan have suffered a great deal over the past 20 years, and the international community is in the country to help for the long term.
The Bagram stop was the final leg of a five-day South Asian tour during which Mr Blair visited both India and Pakistan in a bid to try to reduce tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
