London taxis to hit Chinese streets

London's distinctive black taxis could soon be hitting the streets of mainland China and possibly Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.

A twenty year, 7 million dollar licensing deal has been signed by the UK based Manganese Bronze Holdings permitting Brilliance China Automotive Holdings to sell black cabs in China and export them to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The deal with Brilliance, one of China's largest car manufacturers, marks the first production of the black cab in Asia.
