Senior Khmer Rouge commander buried
A senior Khmer Rouge commander and a leading candidate to stand trial for alleged genocide, General Ke Pauk, has been buried at Anlong Veng.
The A-F-P newsagency quotes witnesses as saying more than 150 officials and family attended the funeral at a Buddhist temple near the family home.
Ke Pauk's coffin arrived amid a convoy of cars before he was buried within the temple's compound.
A-F-P says he was a member of the Khmer Rouge Central Committee, whose members are blamed for genocide and crimes against humanity committed between 1975 and 1979.
He was the most senior commander of the Khmer Rouge to die since former Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot in April, 1998.
