Four grenades exploded among 70 worshippers in Islamabad Police in Pakistan say five people have been killed in a grenade attack on a church in the capital, Islamabad. "Four grendades were thrown into the Protestant International Church in Islamabad where up to 70 people, many of them foreigners were attending prayer services. Police have said 45 people were injured. Six foreigners are in a critical condition in Islambad's Polyclinic Hospital, according to a medical officer. Details about the grenade attack are still emerging. It comes in the wake of the murder American journalist Daniel Pearl, whose killing was confirmed last month, allegedly by Islamic militants. This latest gruesome attack will intensify pressure on Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to try and rein in Islamic hardliners opposed to his support for America's military campaign in Afghanistan." 18/03/2002 05:43:11 | ABC Radio Australia News
