Four policemen shot, eight killed in Indian administered Kashmir
Four policemen have been shot in Indian-administered Kashmir, while eight people died and more than 20 were injured in other separatist-linked violence.
Police say suspected militants shot dead a police constable from point-blank range in a central Srinagar market.
The shooting sparked panic in the busy market and several people were injured in the stampede that followed.
Suspected militants also shot and wounded two policemen and a civilian in another city locality.
Meanwhile, 13 civilians and a member of the paramilitary forces were injured when suspected militants hurled a grenade at a security patrol in Kashmir's south.
