China condemns Netanya suicide bombing
China has condemned a brutal suicide bombing in a packed northern Israeli restaurant, saying such actions ran counter to Middle East peace efforts.
The radical Palestinian Islamic group Hamas claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing in the northern Israeli town of Netanya that killed 20 people and injured 73 others celebrating the first night of the Jewish Passover holiday.
In condemning the attack, a Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman says such acts run counter to the peace promotion efforts of the international community.
China urged all sides to resume peace talks immediately and make efforts to avoid further casualties to innocent people.
