More protests by Japanese workers as unnemployment rises

In Tokyo, the second protest by workers in less than 24 hours has drawn 5-thousand people to a rally outside the Japanese Parliament.

Mark Simkin reports.

The event has been organised by Japan's trade union movement, which says it's appalled by the way the government is handling the economy. Japan is currently in recession and the unemployment rate is near an all-time high. This protest, outside the Diet building, follows an even bigger rally last night, which involved more than 10-thousand people. The organisers say it was the biggest demonstration of its kind in decades. Mark Simkin, Tokyo.
