South Korea takes action over Japanese text books South Korea has announced a series of measures in response to Japan's refusal to revise school history textbooks that critics say distort history and attempt to justify Japan's wartime atrocities. The two countries are at odds over a controversial history text book approved by the Japanese Government for use in classrooms. Korea -- which believes the book whitewashes Japan's wartime aggression -- has announced a range of sanctions. The importation of Japanese music, movies and TV will not be allowed...and military contact will be frozen. The Japanese Government says it regrets Seoul's decision, but is refusing to back down.
