WTO accepts China

After 15 years of negotiation, the World Trade Organization has agreed to endorse China's entry into the world trade body.

China will receive formal approval from the 142 W-T-O members on the second day of the five-day ministerial meeting in the Gulf state of Qatar.

Chinese leaders have pledged to abide by W-T-O commitments, making it easier for nations to invest in and trade with the country of over one-billion people and one-fifth of the world's labor force.
