Number of Japanese tourists travelling overseas declines

The number of Japanese tourists travelling overseas has posted it's biggest decline on record.

Tokyo Correspondent, Mark Simkin reports on the latest blow to the world economy.

Japanese tourists are highly sought after by countries such as Australia. They travel in groups and spend large amounts of money. But they're also very risk averse. and, in the wake of the terrorist attacks in the united states, they stayed at home in droves. In November, tourist departures from Japan dropped by 42% from the year before, the biggest drop on record. It's the latest evidence of the on-going economic impact of the terrorist attacks. Mark Simkin, Tokyo.
