EU observers look into Cambodia election deaths
A European Union observer mission says it's investigating the killings of candidates for landmark Cambodian local elections which have raised international fears over the poll. The deputy chief of the E-U Observation Mission, Mark Stevens, has told the AFP news agency, the E-U is concerned about the killing of seven candidates for the February the 3rd polls.
All seven candidates killed are from the royalist FUNCINPEC party of Prince Norodom Ranariddh or the Sam Rainsy Party of former finance minister, Sam Rainsy. Two candidates and an activist have been shot dead since Thursday heightening international fears that the elections will be tainted. The United States has already urged the government to investigate all the deaths properly.
