Cambodia's Prime Minister says poll campaign has been smooth

Cambodia's Prime Minister, Hun Sen, says the political atmosphere for campaigning in next month's local district elections has been smooth and unremarkable.

Mr Hun Sen was addressing a gathering of 10-thousand people at a bridge opening ceremony in Kompong Cham.

He said nothing had happened apart from a car crash.

On Monday, an opposition member of Cambodia's parliament from the Sam Rainsy Party, 40-year-old Yim Sokha, was killed in a car crash in southern Cambodia.

S-R-P chief, Sam Rainsy, says he will lead an investigation into the death.
