Pakistan cranks up war of words against India Pakistan's President, Pervez Musharraf, has renewed criticism of neighbouring India, damaging the chances of reduced political tensions between the two regional rivals. Marking Pakistan's Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pervez Musharraf, has accused India of playing a dangerous game of brinkmanship by deploying troops and military hardware along the two country's shared border. India's dismissed General Musharraf's statement. The Indian External Affairs Ministry says he's missed an oportunity to reaffirm his commitment to reject terrorism in any form. The fear of all-out war between the rival nuclear neighbours may have eased in recent weeks, but the rhetorical volleys have been consistently antagonistic since tensions flared in mid-December. With Kashmir as the main source of friction, India continues to snub General Musharraf's appeals for negotiations over the future of the disputed Himalayan territory. 06/02/2002 13:36:09 | ABC Radio Australia News
